This is a 10-15 year (animal's lifetime) commitment. We are seeing increased returns from people not realistically evaluating the depth of time and commitment required to socialize, train, and care for their adopted family members. Please research thoroughly and think deeply if you are prepared to adopt.
Adopting a dog during a pandemic
Remember your new dog will need the same walks, training, and investment when life returns to "normal". This is a forever family member.
Socialization is still critical.
Many trainers are offer online sessions.
Work in dog alone time (crated or in a pen out of sight) to avoid them developing separation anxiety.
If you are looking to adopt a puppy while working from home, please know they are still a huge time investment and accommodating both can be very challenging
